Hitchcock: Film Review

Hitchcock is driven aesthically, beautifully executed and greatly acted by the two veterans and winner for Best Actor and Best Actress at Academy Awards, Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren respectively, Sacha Gervasi's masterpiece of exploration of how does a Mr. Alfred Hitchcock direct and how Psycho has been made despite all challenges and hurdles and how Barney Balaban eats his own words.

HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal movie Psycho

Hitchcock is an odd movie, which i really liked, On one hand it's very interesting as it shows what went on behind the scenes of "Psycho", and the performance was really phenomenal, Hitchcock is one of the most surprising films of 2012. This is a well made biopic with a very good cast of talented actor and this biopic is indeed very shocking.

No one can argue on what Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren did there's no lacking it was total commitment, on the other side there's no denying Scarlett Johansson is an effective addition to it's cast portraying Janet Leigh, and indeed she gave life to Janet Leigh and as for James D'Arcy, Jessica Biel and Toni Collette is just enticing as ever and making this cast to die for.

"Hitchcock" isn't deep or complex, but it's a delightful and interesting exploration of the making of "Psycho" and Alfred Hitchcock's relationship with his wife, A glossy, broadly drawn depiction of a man who deserves to be treated with much more complexity and it could surely be a sweet and kind crowd-pleaser.

Hitchcock is indeed maybe too shallow for it's plot and it's too tight for it's story telling, but it's relentless performance and added depth, Sacha Gervasi's film is indeed another great addition to his resume and as for Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren they never loses their charms and this could go down in history, "Call me Hitch. Hold the cock.",

4.5 out of 5 stars
