Silver Linings Playbook: Film Review

Romance| Comedy | Drama

Director: David O. Russell
Cast: Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert de Niro, Jackie Weaver, Chris Tucker, Julia Stiles

If you were to look up the term "feel-good movie", this movie should be its main definition then, Silver Linings Playbook is for you, written by Matthew Quick, which was based on the novel of the same, Directed by David O. Russell, the man behind 2010's The Oscar Winning, The Fighter, yes, he turns from making sports into dramedy, Russell tackling this genre will be complicated, but believe me, I renewed my faith when it comes to 'romantic comedies'

It's been four months since 'Silver Linings Playbook' has been released, and ever since Im still casted under it's spell, the film that completely make me complete, satisfied and begging for more, It's definitely an actor's film, comprised of performances that are riveting, sweet natured, and complex, it's an above average movie, which leaves viewers happy, and delivers a clear message and it's a very great dysfunctional love story.

Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother, and father, after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet-and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

Silver Linings Playbook is Consistently engaging, funny, and touching. This is the kind of picture in which two hours of running time whiz by in a flash, I'm completely blown away this film, I never thought that this would end up like this, sweet, tender and crazy hilarious, and who would have thought that romantic comedies will be renewed, although Silver Linings Playbook swims in a pool of numerous cliches, as i said, One hundred percent predictable, yet strangely kind of fun, But it doesn't settle with it's routine, this film is not original, It may be a Hollywood comedy, but it's one that feels beautifully alive, It's a rom-com that succeeds in revitalizing that discredited genre where so many others have failed, A bittersweet pill that's a mixture of an endearing family drama and modern romance that's an absolute delight, Silver Linings Playbook is defined by it's positive decisions that are made through highs and lows, aggrevation, desperation, but it's an important film and a great one that deserves to sweep the awards it's nominated for, Silver Linings Playbook tells us that happily-ever-after may depend on finding people who coexist with our craziness, It's the execution and creativity that will surely counts, Indeed the movie does make you feel quite good about humanity as the final credits roll, and Silver Linings Playbook is the best movie of 2012 and the acting is mind-boggling glorious

Nominated for 8 Oscars, Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing and winning Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence, Ultimately, Silver Linings Playbook is the kind of film, that I could watch over and over again, there's no denying that this film is heartfelt and indeed very touching, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence's chemistry is hard to seperate, they have this thing called magnetism, that they are fit perfectly well and very suitable for each other, on the other hand another chemistry is bond to each other is Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver's collaboration, I never thought in my life that they make a great couple, feels like they are really married, De Niro is my favorite actor, and I was shocked when I saw he was doing a romantic comedy, and I'm starting to like Weaver, she's such a sweetheart, likewise Russell's sense of direction, has really paid off, he maid this bipolar rom-com with someone intact, and with someone to inspire him, Silver Linings Playbook when spanned within rougly 20-30 years would be viewed one of the greatest romantic comedy films ever made, but surely this is one of my favorite films of all time
